ANNUAL REPORT FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2009-10

It gives me immense pleasure to present the annual report for the academic year 2009-10. This is report of achievements as well as co-curricular and extra curricular activities for the academic year 2009-10.

Major activities of this year are :

Our college has various associations to enhance the potentials among the students and to nurture their inner qualities. We have Cultural Association, Social Sciences Association, Commerce Association, Marathi Vangmaya Mandal. These associations have been engaged in various co-curricular and extra curricular activities. Due to their efforts our students have brought laurels for our college in the various inter-collegiate competitions. Marathi Vangmaya Mandal has published a hand written magazine named as ‘Asmita’. Our college has her magazine titled as Srujan. The First issue of Srujan was published in first half of 2009. Since last year we have been organizing Harmony-competitions at intra-collegiate and inter collegiate level.

On the occasion of international Women Day our college Women Development Cell exemplified the real empowerment of women through the program ‘Paul Padhate Pudhe’. Eight successful women from various fields like medical, local Self Govt. ,Sports, social Services were invited to share their experiences and they were felicitated on this occasion.

We take pride in announcing that we had hosted 42nd Mumbai University youth Festival for thane zone. We bagged eight prizes in which the greatest attraction was the First Prize in Adivasi Group Dance. The same dance secured Third Prize at the University level.

Our student N.S.S. Volunteer Mr. Rohan Deshmukh of S.Y.B.A. is selected for State Republic Day Parade.

Our student Mr. Prashant Kedare is selected in Mumbai University team of Kabaddi. He also bagged Silver Medal in the University Level Best Physique Competition recently held at Shahapur. Last year also he brought laurel for college in same event.

Our staff member have shown equally good performance for improvement in the quality education.

• Prof. Mrs. Shraddha Soman awarded Ph.D. in Marathi by University of Mumbai and she was felicitated at the ‘Scholar Day’ on 9th October 2009.

• Our very senior colleague Prof. Dr. C. Bhuvaneshwari has got published her first book “ A Grandmother’s Tale” which is based on her own experiences and observations.

• Prin. Dr. Daptardar Madam and Prof. Sangita Pande have been awarded University of Mumbai’s Minor Research Grant of Rs. 20000/- each for their Projects.

• Principal has also represented the College as Chief Guest, Resource Person,Paper Presenter and Chairman of the Conferences and Seminar at various places, besides being appointed on various University Committees.

• Addition to this, many of our staff have attended/ participated in various Seminars and workshops.

Mr. and Miss Adarsh is a sum total of performance of students in all the competitions like elocution, literary writing skills, group discussion, situation handling and extempore speech. Principal Madam has already announced the names of Mr. and Miss Adarsh for 2009-10.

At last let me confirm from teacher and students that we are committed for same pace and probably even at higher speed, making our institution reach new heights.
